Info
Laurent Voulzy, born in Paris as Lucien Voulzy, has been shaping since the 1970s his own crossroads between Anglo‑Saxon pop and the French chanson. After early years in rock bands he turned to songwriting and began a long‑standing collaboration with Alain Souchon. His breakthrough came with Rockollection (1977), after which Le Cœur grenadine, Bopper en larmes and Caché derrière further defined his melodic signature: smooth rhythms, layered harmonies and choruses that immediately stick.
On 26 January 2027 Voulzy will appear at the Théâtre Royal in Mons. There he brings together the shades that colour his career: the elegant pop of Avril (2001), the sixties echoes of La Septième Vague and Recollection, and the more contemplative hues of Lys & Love, where medieval and spiritual motifs subtly breeze through the arrangements. With Belem he rediscovered warm grooves and choral textures. Live it’s all about sound, guitar and voice: songs that take their time, with melodies that unfold gently and linger long after.
