Info
CityFolk Festival brings together a transatlantic lineup on September 18, 2026, at the RA Centre in Ottawa, anchored by two pillars of American alternative rock and a rising folk voice.
Third Eye Blind, formed in San Francisco around Stephan Jenkins and Brad Hargreaves, blends pop rock, power pop and post‑grunge into songs with direct melodies and lyrics focused on addiction, relationships and disillusionment. The band, now rounded out by Kryz Reid, Alex LeCavalier and Colin Creev, traverses its catalog from the 1990s to the present—from Third Eye Blind and Blue to Screamer and Our Bande Apart—delivering taut guitars and an instinct for immediate hooks.
Switchfoot, born in San Diego with Jon and Tim Foreman and Chad Butler, operates in an alternative vein where melodic guitars, keyboards and pop choruses open onto spiritual questions. Joined by Jerome Fontamillas, the group moves between atmospheric ballads and tougher, edgier numbers, drawing on a broad, accessible sonic palette found on albums such as The Beautiful Letdown, Hello Hurricane and interrobang.
Jensen McRae brings an intimate touch situated between indie folk and alternative pop. A Los Angeles–based singer‑songwriter, she favors narrative songwriting and spare guitar/piano arrangements, led by a prominent vocal delivery, in the vein of her album Are You Happy Now?.
