Rob Pope

Ron Pope brings his storyteller songwriting to Band on the Wall in Manchester on 20 November 2026. Born in Newark and raised in Georgia, he shaped a style where acoustic pop meets americana, folk roots and a lean rock edge. After an early chapter in New York with The District, he reached a wider audience in 2007 with A Drop in the Ocean, a track that set the tone for melodic ballads, stripped-back arrangements and country-tinged colors that still anchor his live sets.

Working independently via his Brooklyn Basement Records imprint, Pope has built a steady catalogue that tracks his move to Nashville and a broadened palette: Daylight (2008), Goodbye, Goodnight (2009), Atlanta (2012), Calling Off The Dogs (2014), Ron Pope and the Nighthawks (2016), Work (2017), Bone Structure (2020) and Inside Voices (2023). On stage, he moves between intimate storytelling and road songs, carried by a warm voice, close-up lyrics and guitar-driven dynamics, keeping the focus on melody and the craft of the song. A folk-rock set grounded in direct writing and American roots.
