GIRLI

London musician Milly Toomey, aka GIRLI, brings her frank, confessional pop to The Wardrobe in Leeds on 3 November 2026. Since the mid-2010s, she has carved out a sound that blends electronic pop and indie with a punk streak, slipping between spoken passages, melodic hooks and synth-driven production. Her lyrics dig into identity, relationships, mental health, gender and sexuality, drawing on urban youth and queer culture for stories that stay close to real life.

Her debut album Odd One Out (2019) set the blueprint for a raw, self-searching pop; the Damsel in Distress EP (2021) honed the edges; and Matriarchy (2024) leaned into a more melodic, reflective palette without losing its bite. Live, GIRLI thrives in club-sized rooms, moving from rough-cut early tracks to newer songs with a cleaner sheen while keeping that same direct voice at the center. The Leeds date lines up a set where spoken-word flashes meet punchy synths and clear-cut choruses, tracing her shift from abrasive electro-rap textures toward pop that hits straight on.
