Info
Dork’s Day Out lands in Manchester with Hatchie in the Pink Room at YES on 8 August 2026. Brisbane’s Harriette Pilbeam navigates a clear line between dream pop, shoegaze and indie pop: guitars that blur at the edges, melodies that stay sharp, and a voice that’s soft-toned but upfront. Launching her solo work in 2017 with Try and Sure, she set a template of misty textures meeting direct pop writing. Sugar & Spice arrived in 2018, followed by Keepsake (2019), Giving the World Away (2022) and Liquorice (2025), each record nudging her sound toward brighter hooks and firmer rhythms without dropping the shoegaze glow.
On stage, those layers turn kinetic: chorus-forward songs swell on reverb, basslines carry the drive, and her vocals cut clean through the haze. Expect a set that threads early standouts with newer cuts, folding in the crisper production of recent tracks while keeping that gauzy shimmer. Along the way, collaborations and remixes with The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, George Clanton, Wild Nothing, GUM and Robin Guthrie sketch out the orbit she moves in. More acts to be announced.
