Info
EMF bring their blend of jagged guitars, punchy keys and dancefloor pulse back on 6 June 2026 at The Garage, London. Formed in 1989 in Cinderford, the band first broke through with Unbelievable and the album Schubert Dip, then followed with Stigma and Cha Cha Cha. After pauses and reformations, the current core — James Atkin, Ian Dench, Derry Brownson, Stevey Marsh and Robin Goodridge — plays with the same push-and-pull between indie grit and electronic drive that shaped their early years.
On stage, EMF lean into that tension: tight rhythms, samples and clipped riffs carry pop-leaning hooks without smoothing the edges. The set folds early 90s highlights into recent chapters from Go Go Sapiens (2022) and The Beauty and the Chaos (2024), keeping the tempo up while letting the melodies breathe. It’s a live format built around movement and precision, where choruses hit quickly and the groove stays front and centre. From the breakthrough singles to newer tracks, EMF map a line that runs from alternative rock to a club-ready bounce, with clear, unfussy execution.
