Originating from Toulouse's rock scene, SLIFT arrives in Manchester on December 10, 2026 at Gorilla with its dense, physical psychedelia, somewhere between space rock, a pressure-cooker garage, and expansive kraut- and stoner-inflected detours. The trio formed by brothers Jean and Rémi Fossat, accompanied by drummer Canek Flores, first struck with Space Is The Key (2017), tense and direct, before extending the format on La Planète Inexplorée (2018) and its more cosmic narratives. With UMMON (2020), SLIFT develops a taste for long tracks, heavy riffs and rhythmic loops that build tension, carried by an almost incantatory vocal and saturated textures. ILION (2024), released by Sub Pop, continues in this vein: massive, sprawling constructions that are not closed, where melody brushes through the swathes of sound and their impacts. On stage, the band moves in a mode of continuous flow, with songs that transform, open up and return to strike the same spot.
