Dead Calm lands at Village Underground in London on 11 September 2026. Under this moniker, Irish musician Liam McCay channels the slowcore-leaning side of his writing, between lo-fi and indie rock. Born in Galway and raised in Buncrana (Donegal), McCay spreads his catalog across projects like Sign Crushes Motorist, Birth Day and Take Care; Dead Calm gathers the pieces built on slow tempos, muted guitars and a deliberately stripped-back frame. On stage, that economy turns into focus: short forms, sparse chords and small dynamic shifts that leave space for the room to breathe. The set will draw from Accept (2023) and Keep Moving (2025), reworked with the grain and intimacy that define the alias, alongside cuts that bridge his different identities without breaking the thread. Special guests join the bill, widening the lo-fi palette while staying close to the project’s understated core.
