Formed in Cardiff in 1993, Super Furry Animals have built a restless songbook that slides between alternative rock, power pop, psychedelia and electronica, switching from Welsh to English with ease. Built around Gruff Rhys, Huw Bunford, Guto Pryce, Cian Ciaran and Dafydd Ieuan, they moved from early Welsh EPs to Fuzzy Logic and Radiator, then pushed further on Guerrilla and Mwng, the latter sung entirely in Welsh. Rings Around the World and Phantom Power followed with a taste for collage, vocal harmonies and crisp electronics, before Love Kraft, Hey Venus and Dark Days Light Years closed a first chapter. After a long pause and a brief return in 2015-2016, the band steps back on stage in 2026.
Born in St Andrews in 1996, The Beta Band fused indie rock, psych folk, electronica, trip hop and post rock into songs built by collage and slow-burning grooves. Their early run of EPs became The Three E.P.’s, paving the way for the albums The Beta Band, Hot Shots II and Heroes to Zeros. The group split in 2004, then regrouped in 2025 for new live shows, bringing their singular approach back in front of audiences.
