The View - 20th Anniversary of Hats Off to the Buskers

The View mark twenty years of Hats Off to the Buskers at Barrowland Ballroom, Glasgow, on 10 April 2027. Born out of Dundee’s mid-2000s scene, the band honed a lean indie rock that nods to punk, power pop and folk rock, with that unmistakable Scottish phrasing front and center. Their debut broke through with Wasted Little DJs and Same Jeans, built on quick hooks, brisk guitars and stories lifted from streets, flats and late nights. Two decades later, the punch of those songs still frames their live identity.

On stage, Kyle Falconer, Kieren Webster and Pete Reilly lead the core that relaunched in 2022, now with Jay Sharrock on drums. The anniversary brings the band back to the record that set their course, while a broader catalogue keeps the momentum moving, from Which Bitch? and Ropewalk to Exorcism of Youth. Direct choruses, wiry riffs and that pub-born, pop-leaning energy remain their compass, linking the scrappy immediacy of their early days to the sharper writing of recent years.
