The Dualers

The Dualers land at NX Newcastle, Westgate Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, on 17 October 2026. This ska band builds its live sound on steady offbeat guitar, rolling basslines and unhurried grooves that slide between bright ska patterns and rocksteady pulses. Vocals lead the way, with catchy refrains and call-and-response moments supported by tight arrangements and sharp rhythmic accents. The set balances buoyant uptempo numbers with slower, swaying cuts, letting each section breathe through short instrumental breaks and clean, melodic lines. It’s a show shaped for movement, but paced enough to keep the focus on the songs.

Special guests Skandals open the night. Their set lays down brisk rhythms and lean hooks, setting a clear framework for what follows and keeping the room locked into the same pulse. Together, both acts trace a direct line through Jamaican-rooted rhythms and UK ska influences, from the opening bars to the closing chorus. An evening built around groove, timing and the simple pleasure of a tight band on a clear mission.
