Info

Ben Folds plays The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow, on 15 November 2026. A singer, songwriter and pianist from North Carolina, he first broke through with Ben Folds Five, a piano‑fronted trio folding alt‑rock drive into tight pop writing across Ben Folds Five (1995), Whatever and Ever Amen (1997) and The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner (1999), before regrouping for The Sound of the Life of the Mind (2012). In parallel he’s built a solo path that moves between piano‑rock, ballads, chamber pop and orchestral formats: Rockin’ the Suburbs (2001), Songs for Silverman (2005), Way to Normal (2008), Lonely Avenue with Nick Hornby (2010), So There with yMusic (2015), What Matters Most (2023) and Sleigher (2024). He’s also collaborated with Regina Spektor, William Shatner and Weird Al Yankovic, and served as artistic advisor to the National Symphony Orchestra from 2017 to 2025.

On stage, Folds keeps it close to the piano, gliding from punchy, hook‑driven songs to bare ballads and chamber‑coloured pieces, with the quick wit and storytelling that run through his catalogue. The set draws widely from his band years and solo records, with arrangements that put melody, rhythm and his percussive keyboard style front and centre.
