Info
James Morrison returns to the stage on 18 May 2026 at Cambridge Corn Exchange, Cambridge. Raised between Warwickshire and Cornwall, he cut his teeth busking and open mics before breaking through in the mid-2000s with a raspy, soul-leaning voice and melodies rooted in pop rock and acoustic folk. From Undiscovered (2006) and Songs for You, Truths for Me (2008) to The Awakening (2011), Higher Than Here (2015) and You’re Stronger Than You Know (2019), his catalogue balances ballads and mid-tempos built around guitar, piano and straightforward songwriting. Along the way, he has collaborated with Nelly Furtado, Jason Mraz, Jessie J and Joss Stone, and written for other artists.
On stage, Morrison keeps it close and uncluttered: arrangements that put the song first, space for that sand-toned vocal, and a set that shifts between tender slow-burners and rhythm-and-blues accents. Cambridge should hear early favourites alongside later cuts, revisited with the ease of a seasoned bandleader. A live moment focused on melody, groove and the grain of a voice that tells the story without overstatement.
