SJM Concerts present Westside Cowboy

Westside Cowboy lands at Newcastle University Students’ Union on Wednesday 25 November 2026, avec a taut, melodic take on guitar music that slides between country edges and UK indie grit. Built around four voices and the push-pull of two guitars, the band leans on group chemistry more than gloss: riffs bite, bass snaps back, drums keep it urgent while choruses open wide. It’s a live setup made for dynamics and sharp turns rather than polish.

The quartet is Reuben Haycocks (guitar, vocals), James “Jimmy” Bradbury (guitar, vocals), Aoife Anson O’Connell (bass, vocals) and Paddy Murphy (drums, vocals). Their EP So Much Country ’Till We Get There, recorded in New York with producer Loren Humphrey, sharpened that balance of tension and melody; the singles Don’t Throw Rocks and Can’t See have already travelled via BBC 6 Music and BBC Radio 1. On stage, they push these tracks further, letting close harmonies, wiry guitars and elastic grooves pull the set between art-rock angles and straight-ahead release, with the rough edges left in.
