Info

Wishbone Ash play Glasgow on 24 September 2026 at Òran Mór. Formed in late‑60s Torquay, the band built its identity on twin lead guitars, melodic harmonies and long instrumental sections that let themes unfold and circle back. Over the years they’ve moved between blues roots, harder edges and early progressive colors, always anchored by that two‑guitar conversation.

With Andy Powell guiding the group since the 90s, the current lineup keeps that balance intact. The repertoire puIIs from early milestones — the self‑titled debut, Pilgrimage, Argus — and later chapters like Bona Fide and Blue Horizon. You get folk‑tinged lines and narrative riffs, clean arrangements that leave space, and interlocking parts where guitars answer each other before locking into unison.

On stage, the pieces stretch just enough to show the mechanics of the sound without losing the song. Riffs and motifs return in counterpoint, rhythm tight but unforced, vocals stepping in and out of the guitar weave. It’s a clear look at a writing style shaped by interplay and melody, heard up close at Òran Mór, Glasgow.
