Info
James Morrison plays Nottingham on 12 May 2026 at Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall, Theatre Square. Raised between Warwickshire and Cornwall and shaped by open mics, the British singer built his name on a raspy, soulful voice and songs that move between pop, acoustic folk and light R&B. From Undiscovered (2006) to Songs for You, Truths for Me (2008), his writing shifted toward a more polished pop-soul without losing its melodic core, alternating ballads and mid-tempos led by guitar, piano and voice. He’s since added The Awakening, Higher Than Here and You’re Stronger Than You Know, and collaborated with Nelly Furtado, Jason Mraz, Jessie J and Joss Stone, while also writing for others.
On stage, he keeps it direct and song-first. Early tracks sit alongside later cuts, intimate ballads next to groove-led numbers, with arrangements that leave space for the vocal grain that defines his sound. A night rooted in craft and melody, in the heart of Nottingham.
