Seedhe Maut

On 29 May 2026 at KOKO, London, Seedhe Maut brings a slice of New Delhi’s rap scene to the stage. The duo — MCs Encore ABJ (Abhijay Negi) and Calm (Siddhant Sharma) — is signed to independent label Azadi Records and writes in Hindi and Urdu. Their approach mixes rapid-fire flows with narrative writing and snapshots of urban life, moving between social observations and portraits of Indian youth.

Emerging in the mid-2010s through open mics and the capital’s independent circuit, Seedhe Maut has built momentum with regular releases and collaborations across India’s new-wave production scene. The 2018 album Bayaan marked a turning point, followed in 2022 by Nayaab, which probes the pull of ambition, social pressure and everyday economic realities. On stage and in the studio, they lean on the contrast between their voices and writing styles, shifting from introspective cuts to performance-driven tracks and more melodic pieces. This balance anchors their place in the rise of independent hip hop from India, and sets the tone for a set that spans their key chapters at KOKO.
