The Kooks

The Kooks land at Dreamland Margate in Margate on 1 August 2026 with the indie rock they’ve been shaping since Brighton in 2004. Built around Luke Pritchard and Hugh Harris, the band has kept a taste for melodic guitars and concise, singable refrains, quelque part entre héritage britpop et pop rock nerveuse. Their catalogue draws a clear line: the acoustic-tinged Inside In/Inside Out (2006), the more assertive Konk (2008), the pop turn of Junk of the Heart (2011), then Listen (2014), co-produced with Inflo, where groove and wider rhythmic patterns opened the sound, followed by Let’s Go Sunshine (2018) and 10 Tracks to Echo in the Dark (2022) with a touch of synths. On stage, The Kooks go for essentials: brisk tempos, crisp riffs and vocal harmonies that keep the songs moving. The set navigates between guitar-driven indie and pop-inflected tracks, carried by Pritchard’s voice and Harris’s lines, revisiting their different eras without losing that direct, rhythm-first writing that made their name.
