Beverley Knight brings her Born To Perform Tour to The Glasshouse - International Centre for Music in Gateshead on 12 June 2026. Raised in a Pentecostal church in Wolverhampton within a Jamaican family, her roots shape a voice that moves between classic soul, contemporary R&B, neo-soul and gospel. Since her debut The B-Funk (1995), she has built a catalogue that tracks shifts in sound and writing: Prodigal Sista (1998), Who I Am (2002) and Affirmation (2004) opened her music to a broader pop palette without losing the core of her soul approach. Later albums — Music City Soul (2007), 100% (2009), Soul UK (2011), Soulsville (2016) and 2023’s The Fifth Chapter — feed a live set that balances early tracks, recent material and nods to British soul roots.
