Info
Kraftwerk bring their multimedia live show to Wolverhampton on 21 May 2026 at University of Wolverhampton at The Halls. Formed in Düsseldorf in 1970 by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider, the group evolved from krautrock roots to a pared‑back electronic language built on mechanical rhythms, processed vocals and motifs drawn from technology, transport and everyday modern life. Across milestone records like Autobahn, Radio-Activity, Trans-Europe Express, The Man-Machine, Computer World and Electric Café, they defined a minimal synth approach often described as robot pop.
Today led by Ralf Hütter, Kraftwerk tour with a setup where sound and image are tightly synchronized: sequenced beats, vocoder lines and precise melodies interlace with graphic projections to reframe their catalogue. The set spans decades, revisiting classics and Tour de France-era pieces with updated arrangements and production. In Wolverhampton, the focus is on the dialogue between humans and machines that has run through their work since the 1970s, presented with the measured economy and visual clarity that continue to guide the project.
