Info

On 19 June 2026 at Guildhall Square in Southampton, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark headline a night shaped by British synths and guitars. Born on Merseyside at the turn of the 80s, the duo Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys forged a synth-pop that folds pop hooks into darker electronic textures. On stage, OMD move fluidly across eras, from the taut minimalism of their first albums to the atmospheric writing of Architecture & Morality and the sleek pulse that runs through later records. Recent tracks from Bauhaus Staircase rub shoulders with songs that signalled their return to touring.

Peter Hook and The Light, founded in Manchester in 2010 by the former New Order bassist, centre their live work on the Joy Division and New Order songbooks. The group revisits these pieces with Hook’s melodic, driving bass up front, guitars and synth lines threaded through post-punk edges and new wave momentum. Their sets often revolve around complete albums, reframed with a contemporary rock energy.

Opening is Newcastle singer-songwriter Andrew Cushin. His rough-grained voice carries frank, autobiographical writing shaped by indie and folk rock, from stripped acoustic moments to fuller, melodic arrangements. After a run of singles and EPs, his 2023 debut album Waiting for the Rain set the tone for a catalogue now taking shape on bigger stages.
