Stereo MC’s play Concorde 2 in Brighton on 2 October 2026, bringing the blend that put them on the UK alternative dance map: Rob Birch on the mic, Nick Hallam at the controls, hip-hop foundations wired to funk and electronic grooves. Friends since childhood, they shaped their sound in the mid-eighties, cutting early 12"s on their own label before Connected took them global. Released in 1992, that record hit No. 2 in the UK and delivered Connected, Step It Up, Creation and Ground Level, a run that led to two Brit Awards in 1994.

On stage, the duo revisit that hybrid with a taut, rhythmic approach: rap couplets over club-leaning beats, warm basslines, direct hooks. Across the years they’ve pushed the formula on Deep Down & Dirty, Paradise, Double Bubble and Emperor’s Nightingale, and a show pulls from every phase, from rougher early edges to sleeker 2000s textures. Grooves built to move without losing their hip-hop grain, and those anthems aired where they hit hardest.
