Info

McFly take over Cardiff Castle on 25 June 2026. Formed in London in 2003, Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd built their name on crisp guitars, tight harmonies and hooks that move from pop-punk beginnings to sleeker electronic shades. On stage, the band plays that range in full: brisk early sing-alongs and surf-tinged riffs alongside the cleaner punch of later material, from The Lost Songs and Young Dumb Thrills to Power to Play. Two decades in, they perform as a tight live unit, with compact writing and tempo shifts that keep the set moving.

Opening the night, Twin Atlantic bring Glasgow’s alt-rock backbone to the castle courtyard. Sam McTrusty and Ross McNae, with Joe Lazarus on drums, drive a direct, melodic sound that threads power pop urgency with modern textures. Their set draws a line from the hooks of Free and Great Divide to the rougher edges of GLA, Power and Transparency, up to Meltdown. A sharpened warm-up built on clipped guitars and a steady pulse, setting the tone for McFly’s return to guitar-driven pop rock at Cardiff Castle.
