Stephen Wilson Jr. brings the Gary the Torch Tour to O2 Academy Glasgow on 19 October 2026. Raised in southern Indiana and now based in Nashville, the singer-songwriter has carved out a space between alt-country, folk and indie rock, folding in echoes of grunge and a storyteller’s eye. Formerly singer-guitarist in the rock band AutoVaughn, he shifted from full-band rock to writing for others before stepping forward solo.
On stage, he digs into autobiographical material about family, memory and the push and pull between small-town roots and city life. The set draws from his 2023 debut album søn of dad alongside newer songs, moving from hushed confessionals to more electric cuts. Gritty vocals, narrative lyrics and arrangements that slide from acoustic twang to denser textures anchor a live moment focused on the writing as much as the sound.
