Big Country

Big Country play Music Hall in Dundee on 21 June 2026. Formed in Dunfermline in 1981 by Stuart Adamson with Bruce Watson, Tony Butler and Mark Brzezicki, the band carved out a taut, melodic rock sound where ringing guitars sketch lines that nod to bagpipes and Scottish folk. That signature approach ran through The Crossing, Steeltown, The Seer and Peace in Our Time, before broadening in the 90s toward more direct, roots‑tinged writing, and later The Journey in 2013. After Adamson’s passing in 2001, Big Country returned to the stage from 2007 with new line‑ups built around Bruce Watson, keeping the guitar interplay at the heart of the group.

On stage today, Big Country draw across their catalogue, from the early albums to later material, powered by interlocking guitars and a firm rhythmic pulse. The songs carry the band’s blend of drive, melody and a clear Scottish imprint, shaped for a live room and shared voices. A concert that reconnects Big Country with their history and with Dundee, in a venue sized for that close, electric exchange.
