Alexandra Alden
On 28 November 2026 at 7:00 PM at the Supersonic, Maltese-English singer-songwriter Alexandra Alden makes music that evokes shafts of sunlight illuminating the dark corners of a room. Intimate and disarming, it’s a sudden, warm revelation of what usually remains in the shadows. Alden’s songs weave a spellbound world shaped by her voice. They are sonic monologues: confessional indie folk with the emotional intensity of Big Thief and Phoebe Bridgers, the literary precision of Sufjan Stevens, and the aching, timeless calm of Nick Drake and Laura Marling.
Alden has had a difficult journey. Before the stages came the odd jobs. This was followed by a period of deep personal upheaval, during which she withdrew to the mountains to rebuild herself—a period that ultimately gave birth to her latest album, When Is It Too Late? (2025). Completed at the Bert Jansch Studio in Frome, the album draws on Edward Hopper’s liminal spaces, Sylvia Plath’s poetic precision, and the melancholy of The War on Drugs. It is an album that finds beauty in the in-between: the neon haze of a late-night club yielding to the stillness of a solitary morning.
