Amorphis « Boderland Tour »

Amorphis are bringing their hybrid of melodic death, prog and Finnish motifs to Saarbrücken: on 10 August 2026 at the Garage. Founded in Helsinki in 1990, the band early on freed their sound from a death- and doom-based foundation and expanded it with atmosphere, keyboard textures and references to the Kalevala. The Karelian Isthmus and Tales from the Thousand Lakes laid the groundwork; with Elegy the band established the span between clean vocals and growls. Later albums such as Tuonela, Am Universum and Far from the Sun opened doors to the rock and prog realms. Since 2005 Tomi Joutsen has steered the band through these tensions, as heard on Eclipse, Silent Waters, Skyforger, Under the Red Cloud, Queen of Time and Halo.

Live the sextet relies on contrasts: crushing riffs, melodic guitar lines, expansive keyboard landscapes and vocals that alternate between clean tones and deep growls. The setlist reaches deep into three decades, intertwining early tracks with current material while preserving the narrative thread that has always defined Amorphis. Support comes from Mur.
