Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears bring their taut blend of electric blues, soul, funk and garage rock to Vancouver. Powered by Black Joe Lewis’s gritty guitar and raw vocals, the band lays down a tight rhythm section and sharp horns—rooted in 1960s rhythm and blues but played with a more direct punch. Outside formal musical circles, Lewis honed his craft in Austin clubs before shaping a sound that gets straight to the point: simple riffs, a dry, driving groove, and punchy choruses.
On stage, the band pulls from their full catalogue—Tell ’Em What Your Name Is! and Scandalous to Electric Slave, Backlash and The Difference Between Me & You—with songs that heat up fast and fiery interplay between guitar, bass, drums and the horn section.
