Babe Rainbow

Babe Rainbow brings his shape-shifting electronic project to Lee’s Palace in Toronto on July 23, 2026. Under this alias, Vancouver producer Cameron Reed blends ambient drift, downtempo sway and hip hop pulse with a post-dubstep sensibility, favoring slow builds, foggy textures and warm low end. Early EPs on Warp, Shaved (2010) and Endless Path (2011), set the tone with patient, fragmentary pieces where melody emerges through layers of haze. The project later moved toward leaner, more stripped-back forms with Minnesota Winter and Falling Apart (2014), keeping an ear for discreet experimentation and spacious arrangements.

On stage, expect supple rhythms, smeared synths and sample ghosts cycling in and out, more about mood, dynamics and space than big drops. The set often shifts between head-nod grooves and quiet zones, letting details breathe and basslines carry the weight. Reed’s parallel work in remix and production occasionally threads into the live flow, hinting at collaborations and reworks without breaking the arc. Special guests round out the night.
