Info
Detroit-rooted duo Octave One, brothers Lenny and Lawrence Burden, headline at block., 13-14 Liberty Lane, Dublin 8, Ireland, on 30 May 2026. Born at the tail end of the 1980s as a family collective, their project tightened into a live-focused partnership that channels the Motor City’s techno heritage with a touch of house and soul. Early on, they founded 430 West Records, a home base that shaped their identity and released much of their catalog.
Their breakthrough Black Water (2000), with vocals by Ann Saunderson, opened a vein where warm arrangements and vocal lines met straight-ahead rhythms. Albums like Summers on Jupiter (2005), Burn It Down (2015) and Love by Machine (2016) pushed that balance further, weaving pads and harmonies into driving, loop-based sequences.
On stage, Octave One favor a hands-on approach, building tracks in the moment from drum machines, synths and sequencers. The result moves between percussive charge and melodic contours, connecting their studio instincts to the dancefloor. This date brings their Detroit lineage to Dublin, with material drawn from across 430 West and the duo’s evolving live framework.
