Info
Mercury Rev land in Dublin on 14 October 2026 at Vicar Street, carrying the strange beauty they’ve been refining since their Buffalo beginnings. First known for a noisy, off-kilter indie sound, the band around Jonathan Donahue and Grasshopper shifted toward a more melodic, cinematic pop, where a high, quivering voice rides strings, brass and airy guitar textures. That arc runs from the abrasive rush of Yerself Is Steam and Boces to the more tuneful See You on the Other Side, then to the orchestral glow of Deserter’s Songs and All Is Dream, records that opened their world to folk shades and dream pop atmospheres.
The story kept moving with The Secret Migration and Snowflake Midnight, the more intimate The Light in You, and their reimagining of Bobbie Gentry’s The Delta Sweete Revisited. On stage, Mercury Rev like to reshape their catalogue, sliding from hushed ballads to charged, swirling passages, letting arrangements breathe and morph. Expect a set that threads landmark songs with later chapters, attentive to dynamics and detail, and a live sound that leans into the band’s filmic side without losing the spark of their early experiments.
