The Handsome Family

On May 15, 2026 at Whelan’s in Dublin, The Handsome Family bring their singular take on American songwriting to the stage. Formed in Chicago and now based in Albuquerque, the duo of Brett and Rennie Sparks has been crafting stark, narrative-driven songs since the early 90s. Brett composes and sings in a deep, steady register, while Rennie writes lyrics that draw on folklore, gothic fiction and everyday oddities, turning small scenes into vivid stories.
