Eagles of Death Metal

Eagles of Death Metal, the Palm Desert project sparked by Jesse Hughes and Josh Homme in the late 90s, brings its lean, riff-forward rock to The Academy in Dublin on 27 November 2026. Born from the desert rock orbit around Queens of the Stone Age and the Desert Sessions, the band cuts things tighter and more direct: garage bite, rock’n’roll swing, and choruses built to be shouted back. From Peace, Love, Death Metal (2004) through Death by Sexy (2006) and Heart On (2008) to Zipper Down (2015), the catalog lines up brisk tempos, fuzzed guitars and tongue-in-cheek storytelling that hits fast and sticks. On stage, EODM centers on Hughes at the mic and guitar, flanked by a rotating lineup that keeps the set agile and punchy. The show threads early staples with later singles and often slips in a few covers from their 2019 collection, keeping momentum high and the grooves chugging. A straightforward rock set, heavy on hooks, call-and-response refrains and no-frills energy.
