The Waterboys - Fisherman’s Blues Revue featuring Steve Earle

On 8 September 2026 at Filadelfia Convention Center in Stockholm, The Waterboys bring their Fisherman’s Blues Revue to the stage. Led by Mike Scott, the band revisits the fertile late-80s chapter that steered their sound toward Irish-inflected folk rock. Expect a set built around the Fisherman’s Blues era and its kin, where acoustic guitars, organ and rhythmic grooves open up space for traditional colors and blues accents. The show highlights the group’s songwriting at that crossroads of rock, folk and literature, reworking and stretching pieces from that period with today’s live chemistry and room for spontaneous detours.

Special guest Steve Earle joins the Revue. A Texas-born songwriter steeped in Americana, country and folk, he brings a storyteller’s phrasing and a rugged guitar touch that dovetail with the Waterboys’ roots palette. His presence adds a transatlantic thread to the evening, trading lines and textures with Mike Scott and the band, and amplifying the blend of Celtic swing, folk cadence and rough-edged blues that defines this Fisherman’s Blues journey.
