Info

Anamanaguchi play B72 in Vienna on 13 May 2026. Formed between Chappaqua and New York in the mid-2000s, the quartet of Peter Berkman, Ary Warnaar, James DeVito and Luke Silas fuse guitars, bass and drums with a writing style shaped by chiptune, bitpop, indie rock and bright synth pop. Their music balances 8-bit timbres with live band impact, leaning on catchy motifs, tight rhythms and a clear taste for digital textures.

The group first surfaced on the NYC 8-bit scene with the EP Power Supply in 2006, then refined the mix of console tones and rock drive on Dawn Metropolis in 2009. A wider audience found them through the soundtrack to Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game in 2010, followed by a more pop-forward turn on Endless Fantasy in 2013. In 2019, the album [USA] pushed further into vocal electropop while keeping strong ties to gaming culture and online communities. Along the way, they have collaborated with Hatsune Miku, Meesh, Hana, 8485 and Joseph Trapanese, and composed for the game Capsule Silence XXIV and the 2023 series Scott Pilgrim Takes Off. On stage, Anamanaguchi thread these chapters into a kinetic set built on pixelated hooks, punchy drums and a live energy that pulls their catalogue into focus.
