Editors

On 2 February 2027 Editors bring their protean blend to X-Tra, Zurich. Since 2002 the band around Tom Smith, Russell Leetch and Ed Lay has shaped its sound between post-punk revival and electronic gravitation: early chapters such as The Back Room (2005) and An End Has a Start (2007) stand for dark guitars and a taut tempo, while In This Light and on This Evening (2009) pushes synthesizers further forward. After Chris Urbanowicz left in 2012, Justin Lockey and Elliott Williams joined, opening the way to atmospheric rock and pop-dark hues on The Weight of Your Love (2013), In Dream (2015) and Violence (2018). In 2022 Benjamin John Power expanded the line-up; since then EBM has combined industrial pulses, analogue textures and Smith's baritone voice. Live the group relies on contrasts: catalogue pieces meet new tracks, guitars meet sequencers, precise drums meet broad soundscapes — a set that makes the band's development audible.
