La Yegros

On April 17, 2027, at Le Liberté in Rennes, La Yegros made her nu-cumbia—with its hybrid contours between Buenos Aires and the tropical province of Misiones—resonate. Revealed in the early 2010s on the ZZK label, singer Mariana “La Yegros” has crafted a repertoire in which cumbia, chamamé, carnavalito, pop and hip‑hop mingle with electronic music. With Viene de mí (2013) she established a signature of direct vocals, staccato rhythms and motifs drawn from South American folklore, supported by producer Gaby Kerpel, aka King Coya. Magnetismo (2016) broadened the palette toward more melodic textures and collaborations from Latin America’s alternative and electronic scenes. Suelta (2019) heightened the danceable dimension without letting go of her rural roots and the coastal sounds of Argentina. On stage, La Yegros transposes this alchemy into a flexible band format where electronic bass, Latin percussion and folksy vocals call and respond—tailored for clubs, festivals and concert halls. In Rennes, this direct, physical fusion is experienced live.
