DJ Shadow Celebrates 30 Years of Endtroducing

On October 31, 2026 at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, DJ Shadow marks 30 years of Endtroducing..... with a set centered on the album that set his course. Architect of sample‑based, instrumental hip‑hop, he returns to the textures and rhythms that made that record a reference point in his work: layered drum breaks, dusty loops, precise cuts and patient builds. Expect a live narrative that moves through the album’s moods and source influences — funk, soul, ambient, jazz, rock — and opens onto the paths his music has taken since.

From his KDVS radio beginnings and the Solesides/Quannum crew to early Mo’ Wax singles like In/Flux and Lost and Found, DJ Shadow shaped a way of writing beats without front-and-center rap. After Endtroducing..... came the UNKLE chapter with Psyence Fiction, the Dark Days score, then solo albums The Private Press, The Outsider, The Less You Know, the Better, The Mountain Will Fall, Our Pathetic Age and Action Adventure. This anniversary show draws on that catalogue while shining a light on the craft — turntablism, collage and arrangement — that continues to drive his live sets.
