Info
On November 10, 2026, Robert Finley took Espace Julien in Marseille for a set firmly rooted in Louisiana blues. A singer and guitarist discovered late in life, he released his debut album, Age Don’t Mean a Thing, at 62, then went on to a decisive collaboration with Dan Auerbach that produced Goin’ Platinum, Sharecropper’s Son and Black Bayou. On stage, he draws from that repertoire and blends deep blues, Southern soul and rock ’n’ roll with hints of jazz and folk, carried by a deep, gritty voice and a no‑frills guitar style.
Originally from Bernice, he shaped his tone in gospel and on the streets, and tells the story of his native Louisiana through autobiographical songs—taut grooves and slow ballads. Finley moves between warm riffs, R&B pulses and life narratives that connect the personal to the collective. At Espace Julien, the thread runs from the roots of Age Don’t Mean a Thing to the sultry atmospheres of Black Bayou, passing through the chronicles of Sharecropper’s Son. A concert in which each song advances at a human pace, between organic tension and melodies that get under your skin.
