Planet Funk

Planet Funk will be at Moby Dick in Madrid on May 6, 2026. Born in Italy in the late ’90s, the project is organized as a collective around Alex Neri, Marco Baroni, Sergio Della Monica, Domenico “GG” Canu and Alex Uhlmann, at the crossroads of club culture, pop songwriting and a rock-tinged energy. Since the impact of “Chase the Sun,” the group has developed its own language made up of flexible electronic rhythms, pronounced basslines and taut guitars, with choruses carried by various guest vocalists such as Dan Black and Sally Doherty.

On stage, their range spans electro to alternative dance, synth-pop and a steady-pulsing electronic rock. Their discography links Non Zero Sumness (2002), The Illogical Consequence (2005) and The Great Shake (2011), sustaining a repertoire conceived both for live performance and for the studio. In Madrid, Planet Funk arrives with that collective logic: melodic songs, club textures and a presentation aimed at the dance floor without losing a taste for the song format.
