Ruel brings his Kicking & Screaming UK + EU Tour to Cologne on 18 October 2026, at Die Kantine Kulturbetrieb. Born in London and raised in Sydney, he writes contemporary pop songs with hints of soul and R&B. After early singles came the EPs Ready (2018), Free Time (2019) and Bright Lights, Red Eyes (2020), followed by the album 4th Wall (2023). Live, Ruel blends quiet ballads, midtempo tracks and alternative pop hues; at the core are his voice, clear melodies and an introspective tone. The set reaches across his catalogue, bearing traces of his collaboration with M-Phazes and touches of hip-hop and electronics, while keeping melody at the forefront.
Special guest: Sadie Jean (USA), shaped between Orange County and New York. Her songs are pared-back, carried by piano or guitar and a gentle vocal. With WYD Now? she drew attention in 2021 through an open-verse format on TikTok; Locksmith continued her line of minimally produced, narrative pop songs. In Cologne she will open the evening with intimate, restrained pop melancholy — stories of breakups, friendships and the uncertain terrain of growing up.
