Roméo & Juliette has brought together more than 11 million spectators around the world. The show has been translated into 18 languages and performed in 20 countries. Launched in 2001 at the Palais des Congrès, it attracted nearly 2.5 million spectators. From its beginnings carried by the duo Damien Sargue and Cécilia Cara, the work allows audiences to see the original pair reunited on stage.

For Cécilia, returning to Paris with Roméo & Juliette is moving. "I was chosen at 15 to play Juliet, a role that marked the start of my life as an artist. Reprising it twenty years later, alongside Damien, was a powerful moment — as if we had never been apart, but enriched by everything life has given us. This return has symbolic value: closing the circle, coming back to where it all began, with 25 years of experience that now feed the characters in a different way. The story continues to unite people, to convey love and emotion. It is a joy to rediscover Juliet and the French audience."

In the same vein, Damien adds: returning to Paris after taking Roméo & Juliette around the world, notably to Asia, carries a particular resonance. "This role has been with me since 2001, and finding it again today alongside Cécilia, with the perspective and maturity time has given us, brings a new depth to this adventure."

With more than 9 million records sold and hits such as Les Rois du monde and Aimer, Roméo & Juliette has left its mark on the history of musical theatre. For nearly 25 years the production has traveled across cultures and adapted to the changes of its time: new technologies, new stage conventions, new audience expectations. True to its DNA while renewing itself, it preserves what defines its identity: familiar songs, a large-scale aesthetic and a strong sense of spectacle.

According to Gérard Presgurvic, Roméo & Juliette poses a question that remains relevant: how far are we willing to go for love? Their performances bring a new depth to the show, nourished by the experience gained over the years.

The announcement of Roméo & Juliette’s return is not merely a revival. In 2027, Roméo & Juliette will come back in a reimagined version, incorporating new generational codes while preserving the essence that has made it successful for a quarter of a century: a story, emotions and a musical signature. This return will be accompanied by a new cast, new costumes and new scenography, redesigned for today.
