Info
The Temperance Movement arrives at La Cigale on November 7, 2026, with its direct, no‑nonsense blues rock. Born in the United Kingdom in 2011 around Scottish singer Phil Campbell, the guitar duo Luke Potashnick and Paul Sayer, and bassist Nick Fyffe, the band forged a sound firmly rooted in collective interplay, with guitars up front, nourished by British classic rock, touches of soul and a controlled hard‑rock tension. After the Pride EP in 2012, they followed with three albums that defined their onstage identity: The Temperance Movement (2013), White Bear (2016) and A Deeper Cut (2018).
Their trajectory includes opening for the Rolling Stones in 2014 and a US tour with Blackberry Smoke in 2015. Line‑up changes followed, then an announced return at the end of 2024 with Campbell and Potashnick once again joined by Paul Sayer, Nick Fyffe and Simon Lea. At La Cigale, the band recreates that chemistry: gravelly vocals, biting riffs, a solid rhythm section, and a setlist that draws from their entire discography. A Paris show where the quintet’s energy is concentrated on the essentials: well‑crafted songs, guitars that do the talking, and a groove that never lets go.
