Info
On September 11, 2026 at Bronson Centre in Ottawa, Sun Kil Moon, the long-running project of Mark Kozelek, brings his narrative folk to the stage. Launched in 2002 after Red House Painters, the project moved from slowcore-leaning, fingerpicked ballads toward a more direct, spoken-sung way of writing. From Ghosts of the Great Highway and the Modest Mouse covers of Tiny Cities to Benji and Universal Themes, Kozelek draws on everyday detail, memory and autobiographical fragments, letting songs stretch and wander with a diaristic tone.
Live, Sun Kil Moon often pares things back to voice and guitar, with roomy pacing and shifts between singing and spoken passages. The set leans on long-form pieces, sharp images and a conversational flow. Special guests join for the occasion.
