Magic System

On March 13, 2027, at Le Liberté in Rennes, Magic System celebrates thirty years of their career with a show centered on what has been their strength from the start: zouglou crafted for the stage. Born in the late 1990s in the Anoumabo neighborhood of Abidjan, the quartet A’Salfo, Manadja, Goudé and Tino has carried this style far beyond Côte d’Ivoire. Propelled by “Premier Gaou” in the early 2000s, the group broadened its palette toward an African pop nourished by afro-dance and urban music, without abandoning the zouglou matrix that defines their identity.

With more than five million albums sold and over a billion views, Magic System has established choral refrains and direct rhythms that have become familiar. On stage, the group strings together the songs that have marked their journey: “Premier Gaou,” “Bouger Bouger,” “Magic in the Air,” as well as tracks from albums such as Poisson d’avril, Un Gaou à Paris, Touté Kalé or Africainement vôtre, and collaborations with Khaled or Chawki. Between collective singing, everyday stories and a pulse made for dancing, this Rennes date unfolds the story of an instantly recognisable sound, conceived for live performance and built to rally the crowd.
