Blending melodic death metal and classical music, the Toulouse-based band Aephanemer has forged a distinct sonic identity within the French metal scene.

Their stagecraft, notably noticed at Wacken Open Air, and the quality of their compositions led to a collaboration with Napalm Records, which reissued their album Prokopton in 2019. This partnership paved the way for wider exposure and numerous dates across Europe.

In 2021 the band released A Dream of Wilderness, produced by Dan Swanö and Mika Jussila. The album deepened the fusion of melodic death metal and symphonic orchestrations while incorporating folk and medieval influences.

Onstage, Aephanemer has stacked up concerts and festival appearances such as Hellfest, Motocultor and Summer Breeze, as well as tours in France, the United Kingdom and throughout Europe.

On 31 October 2025, Aephanemer released their album Utopie on Napalm Records. The record continues to explore the relationship between extreme music and symphonic arrangements.
