On 4 June 2026 at the Trianon (18th arrondissement, Paris), John Lydon brings Public Image Ltd. back to the stage. After the Sex Pistols he launched PiL, carving out an open post‑punk path where rock, dub, pop, folk and dance pulses intersect. From First Issue in 1978 to That What Is Not in 1992, the band released a string of landmark records in the UK while frequently changing line‑ups. After a long hiatus, PiL returned in 2009, resumed extensive touring and released three albums that define the recent period: This Is PiL (2012), What The World Needs Now... (2015) and End of the World (2023). On stage, Lydon’s raspy voice and a taut rhythmic section hold the line.
Opening the bill, Rendez‑Vous, a Parisian band active since 2012, unfolds a dark post‑punk sound nourished by cold wave and synthetic accents. Nervy basslines, angular guitars, austere keyboards and clipped beats underpin a direct songwriting approach, shaped from their early EPs through Superior State (2018) and extended with Downcast (2024). Their set sets a high bar before PiL’s appearance, balancing tension, electronic textures and live energy.
