Info

On May 5, 2026 at New Morning in Paris’s 10th arrondissement, Parlor Greens, Kendra Morris and Taylor Williams share the bill for an evening where instrumental music and vocal soul meet effortlessly. Three distinct worlds, one shared desire to let groove and live interaction do the talking.

Parlor Greens
Signed to Colemine Records, the trio brings together Adam Scone on organ, Jimmy James on guitar and Tim Carman on drums. Their playground: muscular soul-jazz with funk nods and rhythm-and-blues surges, driven by thick organ lines, an incisive guitar and a razor-tight rhythm section. Scone lets the organ breathe with an artisanal attention to detail, James contributes a instantly recognizable funky attack, and Carman anchors it all with a compact drive. On stage, that translates into precise patterns, tight interplay and flights that always serve the theme.

Kendra Morris
With Next, her fourth album, the singer-songwriter digs into a personal mix where doo‑wop, soul, rocksteady, boom‑bap and sound collages answer one another. Her voice moves between intimacy and projection, carried by direct songwriting and textures that borrow as much from the retro as from the urban. In concert she transposes this palette by striking a balance between nuance and spontaneity.

Taylor Williams
A recent signing to Colemine, he blends soul, jazz‑funk and neo‑soul with a warm voice first noticed on Patchwork Inc.’s 45. A former member of Black Haus, he keeps an adventurous spirit while drawing on very ’70s harmonies—somewhere between Minnie Riperton, Isaac Hayes and Marvin Gaye. His vocal presence fits naturally amid the instrumental flourishes of the lineup.
