Tiwayo

Tiwayo returns to the essentials with a soul-blues rooted in the French scene and open to African-American influences. A singer, guitarist and songwriter, he shaped his songs between Paris and the road, from clubs to small venues, before distilling that trajectory on The Gypsy Soul of Tiwayo in 2019. His music blends soul, blues, rock and touches of reggae, propelled by slow to mid tempos, spare guitars and discreet backing vocals, with particular care given to the vocal melody. The lyrics, in English, are direct, alternating between travel tales, doubts and everyday snapshots.

On stage, Tiwayo adapts his set to the energy of the moment, whether in an electric lineup or a more intimate configuration, as a duo or trio.
