On April 13, 2026, at Le Baiser Salé, François Constantin revived his Monday Jam, conceived to encompass all forms of jazz. As percussionist and master of ceremonies, he lays down a solid rhythmic foundation, steers the group’s dynamics and opens the stage to the voices and instruments that come and go. The format is simple: an opening set led by the house, then the stage widens and the pieces follow according to who joins. The program slips from standards to more recent themes, from swing to hard bop, with detours into Afro and Latin jazz when the percussion takes over.

Constantin sets the pace, pushes it forward, creates space for choruses and oversees transitions. The jam brings together regulars from the Paris scene and new faces; sections reconfigure as the tunes progress, dialogues form, and the energy builds in stages without losing the collective thread. An evening focused on improvisation, listening and sharing, carried as much by the leader’s direction as by spontaneous encounters, at Le Baiser Salé, Paris.
